What We Do
The third pillar of the Youth Connections Collaboriative (YCC) of Georgia is workforce development. Workforce development pillar connects low-to moderate-income (LMI) youth to bank, work opportunities in and around their community. This is a fundamental and necessary step to address both the supply side and demand side of the labor market. Equitable participation in the banking industry for LMI youth creates job opportunities, diversifies the workforce and fosters positive banking experiences. Increasing the pool of qualified LMI youth in urban, suburban and rural areas encourages a sustainable workforce and higher quality of life for participating youth.
Participating banks facilitating Pathways into Banking Careers provide LMI youth with a livable-wage and experience to enhance their quality of life. The pre-apprenticeship, apprenticeship and employment opportunities develop core banking competencies, soft-skills and understanding of the many roles within a bank for successful orientation and acclamation.
